The Pru East District Assembly has organized a one-day training programme for its staff on the Smart Workplace Online Platform as part of efforts to modernize public sector operations and promote a paperless working environment.
The training took place on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, at the Assembly’s premises in Yeji, Bono East Region. It was coordinated by the District Management Information Systems (MIS) Unit under the guidance of the Office of the Local Government Service (OLGS).
The programme aimed to equip staff with practical skills to effectively use the Smart Workplace platform to reduce paper usage, improve official communication, enhance document management, and streamline workflow processes within the Assembly.
Facilitators for the training were drawn from the Office of the Local Government Service (OLGS), the Regional MIS Office, and Smart Infraco Limited. Participants were taken through hands-on demonstrations covering system login procedures, navigation of the platform, document creation, digital sharing, approvals, and electronic filing.
The training was attended by management and staff of the Assembly, including the District Chief Executive, Hon. Dauda Abdul Nassir, and the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Owusu Frimpong Peter, along with all staff members of the Assembly.
Discussions during the session focused on how the Smart Workplace system can support efficiency, transparency, and accountability by minimizing manual paperwork and improving turnaround time for official processes.
In his remarks, management encouraged staff to fully embrace and consistently use the Smart Workplace platform to improve productivity and support the Assembly’s digital transformation agenda.
The training was well attended and received positive feedback, with staff demonstrating strong interest in adopting smart and digital working practices to enhance service delivery in the district.
