The Pru East District Assembly held its Second Ordinary Meeting on Thursday, 30th July 2026, at the Assembly Conference Hall to deliberate on key development, financial management, planning and service delivery issues affecting the district.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Assembly Members and management to review the Assembly’s programmes, consider committee reports and take decisions to guide development activities for the remainder of the year.
The meeting was chaired by the Hon. Presiding Member, Godwin Awudi, and attended by Assembly Members, the District Chief Executive, Heads of Departments and other stakeholders.
In his welcome address, the Presiding Member highlighted the Assembly’s performance on the Public Financial Management (PFM) League Table) and encouraged management and staff to sustain efforts to improve compliance with PFM requirements.
He also called for continuous capacity building of staff in public financial management and stronger internal control systems. On revenue mobilization, he noted the Assembly’s efforts to digitize some aspects of revenue collection to improve efficiency, accountability and revenue generation.

The Presiding Member also touched on national sanitation concerns and the fulfilment of the Assembly’s pledge to provide GAAM cloth and allowances to Assembly Members. He further congratulated Anile, the Bono East representative in Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB), on her achievement.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Abdul Nassir Dawuda, in his address, provided updates on security, finance, sanitation, development projects, staff postings and government programmes being implemented in the district.
He announced that the three months’ arrears of Assembly Members’ allowances had been paid, addressing an outstanding financial obligation to members.
The DCE also highlighted the Assembly’s investment in education, indicating that approximately 984 pieces of school furniture had been procured and distributed to schools across the district. The intervention is expected to support teaching and learning by improving the availability of furniture in beneficiary schools.

A major outcome of the meeting was the consideration and approval of the Revised 2026 Annual Action Plan (AAP). The document was presented by the District Development Planning Officer and discussed by members to ensure that the Assembly’s development priorities and activities remain aligned with the needs of the district.
The House also considered the Revised 2026 Composite Budget. Following deliberations, members approved the revised budget to provide the financial framework for the implementation of the Assembly’s programmes and projects for the rest of 2026.
Reports from the Executive Committee and the Public Relations and Complaints Committee (PRCC) were also presented and discussed. The reports were approved to support the implementation of agreed actions and recommendations.
In his closing remarks, the Presiding Member urged management to continue strengthening PFM compliance and internal controls. He also encouraged further investment in staff capacity building and the digitization of revenue collection to improve transparency, efficiency and the Assembly’s ability to mobilize resources for development.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by the Assembly Members and management to work together to improve governance, strengthen financial accountability and deliver development programmes that respond to the needs of communities across the Pru East District.
